Welcome to Theatrecomrades

Theatrecomrades is committed to bringing quality, innovative theatre to Hawke’s Bay.
We are offering an opportunity for audiences to experience professional theatre and we wish to support and foster local emerging and established performers, and employ professional theatre makers to provide mentoring and experience.

Theatrecomrades was originally launched in 2006 by Sally Richards and Megan Peacock as a data-based website to promote theatre collaboration in Wellington. It also presented theatre productions, in collaboration with The Amazing Orange Tricycle, including the award-winning Porcelain Grin at BATS Theatre, The Vagina Monologues at Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, and premiered Winter by Diane Spodarek, directed by Sally Richards.

2010 marked the re-emergence of Theatrecomrades in Hawke's Bay with a season of Shorts in October, followed by The Vagina Monologues in March 2011 and a second season of Shorts in July 2011.

2012 kicks off with a third season of the popular Shorts brand. Check our Current Events page to find out more about what you can expect from Shorts this April.
